Sage Pay the new name for Protx

From today, Protx, the UK's largest independant payment service provider becomes Sage Pay.

By changing to their new name and re-branding themselves, Sage Pay are showing their commitment to safeguarding internet transactions.  Along with a the re-brand, Sage Pay have also made a range of enhancements to the system to make them more streamlined and cost effective.

The payments service gateway has been improved with 24/7 in-house customer support who are based in the United Kingdom.  A full integration of mail order and telephone payment facilities with other Sage accounting solutions will also make it easier for businesses to reconcile accounts and transaction payments.

The Managing Director of Sage Pay, Simon Black said: "Selling goods and services over the internet represents a real opportunity for businesses that seek to capitalise on the changing buying habits of the UK public, as retailers take advantage of valuable supplementary sales channel."
