New beer website launched at Belgian Embassy

An exciting new website, which plans to revolutionise the beer market, was launched today at the Belgian Embassy in London.
At the launch SpecialityBEERmerchants.com unveiled a revolutionary beer classification system: The SBA BEER Matrix ®, where beer has just five categories much the same as wine.
Marc Stroobandt, Master BEER sommelier at SpecialityBEERmerchants.com explains, “As well as selling beer, our aim is to simplify the beer category to make it easier to understand and to make the beer experience more enjoyable, as was done with wine many years ago. We are the first people to devise a simple yet effective matrix for what is seen as a homogenous sector dominated by pints and bottles and we believe it will revolutionise the way people perceive beer”.
The team at Pin Digital who designed and developed the website worked closely with SpecialityBEERmerchants.com for a number of months during which time they gained in depth knowledge of the speciality beer business. “Working with SpecialityBEERmerchants.com was really exciting” commented Pin Digital’s head developer Colin Jaggs, “Not least because this involved a beer tasting session for the entire Pin Digital team with master beer sommelier Marc Stroobandt!”
SpecialityBEERmerchants.com features ‘The Academy’ an educational section on the website which contains a wealth of information about beer – including how to select your beer, store it, what glassware to use, how to pair with food etc.
The site also features an online shop which sells over 180 different beers all selected by Marc Stroobandt. Beer is sold in several combinations including single bottles with a bespoke branded glass, select mixed cases, vintage beers and gift packs.
