Investors in People standard awarded to Pin Digital

7 July 2004

Pin Digital has recently been awarded the Investors in People standard. Established in 1990, Investors in People is the national standard which sets a level of good practice for training and development of people to achieve business goals. This standard provides a national framework for improving businesses through setting objectives and developing people to meet them.

Steve Noctor, Managing Director of Pin Digital, says "Achieving the Investors in People standard has been critical to the growth of our business. In our industry, people are your business and investing in their development is the equivalent to investing in the future success of the business." He continues, "Our recent success is directly linked to our approach to investing in our staff and allowing them to develop their careers. Our clients demand the best from us and our commitment to ongoing development ensures that our customers continually benefit from individual training and development."

The Investors in People standard benefits both employers and employees, by allowing companies to succeed and compete through improved people performance. Research has shown that 80% of Investors in People organisations have increased customer satisfaction and 94% of employees are satisfied in their jobs compared to 37% in businesses without the standard.

Pin Digital was advised, prior to applying for the standard, by Barry Austin of Business Advisory Services, who was part funded by Business Link Birmingham. He said “I was very impressed with this company from the start; their professional approach and company culture ensured they achieved the standard in a short space of time, and it is testament to their continued drive towards business excellence."

Steve Noctor commented, “We are very pleased with the support provided by Business Link. The advice and encouragement we received from Barry has been fantastic. I am confident now that our systems, working culture and the ethic of continuous improvement will help us maintain a strong and happy workforce.”
