Case Study

The Client
Holy Trinity School is an independent
private school based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. Established in 1903 the
school is housed on one site ensuring continuity of education between the four
main school sections: Nursery, Lower School, Senior School and Sixth Form. The
school’s underlying philosophy has never changed – pupils come first; they are
the very essence of the school.
The Challenge
Holy Trinity wanted a redevelopment of their existing website that would fulfil
three key requirements.
-
The first requirement was to develop a website that would help to promote the
school to prospective new pupils and their parents.
-
The second requirement was for a website that would act as a communication and
collaboration tool for existing pupils, their parents and teaching staff.
-
The third requirement was for a website that could help promote information
about the school to the local community, stakeholders and anyone else with an
interest in Holy Trinity.
With an ever increasing demand on educational quality, Holy Trinity wanted to
step into the 21st Century, with a high quality website that could help promote
the school’s excellence.
The Solution
Pin Digital developed the new website
incorporating a Content Management System based on an advanced administration
system designed and developed in-house by Pin Digital’s .NET development team.
The system enables any member of staff at Holy Trinity to amend, add and update
content ensuring the website is always kept up-to-date. The Content Management
System makes updating pages as easy as using a simple word processor.
The website also includes a sophisticated news system and photo management
system.
The news system developed by Pin Digital allows news stories and events to be
dated and categorised. This makes it quick and easy for users to find stories
and announcements relevant to their section of the school.
The photo management system allows for easy uploading and automatic re-sizing
of images. It also comes with a copyright protection feature to make it
difficult for users of the site to copy or save pictures to their computers.
The Bottom Line
Holy Trinity School now have a website which was described by the Head Teacher
as having a ‘wow’ factor. The website has helped Holy Trinity to become
‘greener’ by helping to substantially reduce the number of letters sent out to
parents and friends of the school. The new Holy Trinity website has become the
focal point for news stories, events and announcements for the entire school
community.
|
The website is designed with parents and students in mind. Informative and
communicative, our new site reflects the school’s inventive, forward thinking
and open approach to educational change and progress.
